The Bureau for Institutional Reform and Democracy – BiRD is currently accepting applications for a Team leader/development expert as part of a Lot7 short-term mission in Thailand entitled “Strategic Engagement of CSOs in Achieving Thailand's Sustainable Development Goals“.

The global objective of the assignment is to provide recommendations to establish a mechanism in increasing participation of CSOs in implementing the country's SDGS that will contribute to Thailand's achievement of SDGs, leading to improved living conditions, reduced inequality and poverty.

The specific objective of the assignment is to assist the Chulalongkorn University Social Research Institute (CUSRI) to develop a strategic engagement framework for CSOs in implementing and monitoring Thailand's Sustainable Development Goals.

Expert 1: Team leader/development expert – Category I

  • Qualifications and skills

  • Advanced university degree (minimum Master's Degree) in the fields relevant to development, certified by a Diploma (or equivalent professional experience of at least 15 years if candidate does not possess an advance university degree.);

  • S/he must possess facilitation and communication skills.

  • Excellent command of oral and written English.

  • Ability to prepare and present well-written analytical documents.

  • Computer literacy (minimum MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel).

  • General professional experience:

  • At least 12 years of experience in the domain of cooperation/development of strategies or strategy and project/programme formulation.

  • At least 5 years of experience in assessment/evaluation of different types of development projects in various thematic sectors (e.g. social, economic, investment, multi-sectoral).

  • Experience with different types/sectors of EU funded projects relevant EU policies, regulations and procedures for EU development co-operation (e.g. EU call for proposals, financial/funding approaches, and Project Cycle Management).

  • Specific professional experience:

  • Minimum 1 relevant experience development project dealing with CSOs.

  • Minimum 1 relevant experience in designing/formulating strategic framework for development cooperation.

  • Minimum 3 relevant experiences as a team leader in the past 10 years;

Provisional start of the assignment: January 2017. Foreseen finishing period: end of July 2017.

The location of the mission is mainly Bangkok, Thailand. **
